Now let’s look at the communion.
1 Corinthians chapter 11, this is what Apostle Paul said in verse 20 and 21:
20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord’s Supper.
21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
Therefore, you can deduct that what he had just said in these scriptures is “you can’t come for communion the way you people are coming, Oh Corinthian Church! And this correction is even to the Bride of Christ and Christians worldwide.
Every church in the whole world takes Holy Communion or at least almost all and the communion was instituted by Christ Jesus Himself. Therefore, there is the right way to take the communion and though every church have their own way in which they take communion just as even in the end time message they have their own way of holding communion but there is the biblically correct way that stands as a standard for all.
But in all this, there are some churches that have put some laws that disqualifies certain people from taking communion and yet those people can pay their tithe and offerings but they cannot take communion. I have a sister that spoke with me some time ago and according to her, she had spent years in Anglican Church but she could not partake in the communion. Well, she’s from Redeem Christian Church but was married to an Anglican man but she could not participate in the communion because of the condition that is required of a person before that person can be a partaker of the communion in the Anglican Church. So she came for communion believing that she had been baptized and so that is enough to declare that she is a Christian just like they do in Redeemed Christian Church of God church but on the day of communion she went for it but there was something she did that made them to know that “No! You have not yet been confirmed” even as they stood there watching and screening as they served the communion. According to them, when you want to come and collect the bread and wine, there is a particular way you put your hand. I think it’s that they put their right hand on top of the left hand and so since she saw people crossing their hands she also decided to cross her hands but she placed the left hand on top of the right hand instead and so they were like “kai! Stop it!” that is what they used to identify her and they told her that she cannot partake of the communion because she had not been confirmed and that if you have been confirmed, you would have known because before confirmation, there is a class you would go through where they would teach you so many things including the right hand on top of the left hand to collect communion and I am asking: “What has that got to do with the cross, the body and blood of Jesus?” What is confirmation? That you have to be confirmed before you take the communion in the church and some have so used the communion that they use it for everything; they use it to join husband and wife and then they share communion on the altar even for burial. They take communion over the dead body before they bury it. Some take it in the morning, some take it at the dead of the night, and some use Biscuit, some use Coke, some use Zobo, and some use wine produced by some factory somewhere. So if you look at it, the same utterance that was given by Christ is being carried out with different ways of doing it, something is wrong!
We are supposed to have one faith, one love, one baptism, one Lord. So why are we having different ways of carrying out the communion? This is the reason, Jesus Christ therefore said in the book of John chapter 6 from verse 53 to 58
53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live forever.
And the emphasis there is in verse 53; except you eat my flesh and drink my blood you have no life in you, and the next thing that should come to anyone’s mind is “eating the flesh of Jesus Christ and drinking his blood, what is he trying to say?” What He is trying to tell you is that you need to understand what his blood stands for and what his body that He offered on the cross of Calvary stands for. Except you understand these things, you will only be a religious person and you would never have the effect of the cross of Calvary, that is, you cannot benefit from what happened at Calvary.
And the reality is that many people are yet to eat of the flesh of Jesus Christ and please to my Catholic brothers, to eat the flesh of Jesus is not the Holy Eucharist where you come before the priest that they say he has the power to turn that wafer to the literal body of Jesus and then He offers the wafer to the people with the power he has to turn it to the flesh of Jesus and people believe it that now it is the flesh of Jesus and occultists are lining up to come and eat it even witches are lining up to eat it, fornicators, adulterers and adulteresses, corrupt politicians are coming to take communion – the body of Jesus but the blood only the priest drinks the blood signifying that the people are not qualified to drink the blood – and he will bless the people and they will then sit down as he will then back you and jack the thing (the wine) and when his eyes are red he then will face you and break you and scatter you in the name of demonstrating the sign of the cross. That is what Christianity has been reduced to and when we speak they say we are criticizing.
Jesus asked His disciples in Matthew chapter 16, “whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” Because knowing him is important. Until you know who Jesus Christ is, your Christianity is in vain and it will never be meaningful. You must know who Jesus is before you can stand and die for him. It is until you know who He is that you will then be able to stand unashamed to identify with his reproach so if you feel ashamed of declaring who you are in Christ Jesus, you are ashamed because you have not yet known him and knowing him is the rock upon which he builds his church and the gates of hell shall not prevail.
In 1 Corinthians chapter 11 and verse 29, this is the way Apostle Paul puts it:
29 for he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body
So when you come before the Lord in celebration of the communion, if you don’t come in the proper way, you only end up coming in the way of the Corinthian church just as they were coming with all manner of carnality and Apostle Paul said that you do that because you don’t understand the Lord’s body. Therefore, it is important that you understand what the body of Jesus Christ means and what his blood means.
What is communion? Communion is the fellowship of like minds. It is the demonstration of a bond that binds us together and that is what we come to celebrate each time we partake in communion. That is the meaning of communion! Communion is fellowship with Christ. It is the demonstration of fellowship. I am just trying to look for the best way to describe it. It’s an ordinance in which we as Christians carry out certain actions in demonstration of the bond that brings us together, ordinance and what is the bond? Let’s see Luke chapter 22 verse 14 to 20, this is the way he puts it,
14 And when the hour was come, he sat down and the twelve apostle with him.
15 And he said unto them, with desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer (Now! this is referring to the last supper and it is the Passover feast).
16 For I said unto you, I will not anymore eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God
17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19 And he took bread and gave thanks and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, this is my body which is given for you: This do in remembrance of me.
20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, this cup is the New Testament in my blood which is shed for you.
The emphasis is that you do it in remembrance of Him – Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. So you might still want to know, “what is communion?” It is “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” so communion is actually the sharing of God’s love. We come together to demonstrate our fellowship around the love of God. We come to share that love that was offered for us.
The bread must be unleavened bread, the bread must not have yeast and that is why it cannot be biscuit. It must be unleavened bread meaning that you do not add yeast to it because yeast will corrupt it and yeast is a type of sin. Yeast is also a type of false doctrine. And the wine must contain alcohol so do not be holier than Jesus himself who gave the commandment. Do not say as a Christian, you cannot drink alcohol, therefore, you cannot use alcohol for wine. No! No! No! It is not like that, you are not entitled to alcohol, except on the Lord’s Table for the sole purpose of the communion, praise the Lord!
Communion is a renewal of our covenant with Jesus Christ. The communion is the covenant that we have as Christians, that nullifies every other covenant. So, communion service is actually a service where we come together to remind all forces around us that here is the covenant I belong to and you have no power over me anymore.
We have tried to stress the importance of communion, how communion should be taken and how it should be prepared. I expect therefore that instead of you to come and waste time and line up for deliverance for that incurable sickness, that you will come on a communion day, under that revelation; take that wine and challenge the reality of what Jesus Christ went to do at cross of Calvary as regards that sickness, because the Bible said by His stripes we are healed.
“No revelated Christian jokes with communion” and I mean this in the respect of it being taken in its proper understanding. I am not referring to those ones that are taken in such a way that the devil has made sure he desecrates the sanctity for which the communion stands for and so people don’t even know what the communion stands for anymore. Even what water baptism stands for, people don’t even know it.
The highest program for deliverance is the communion service but the blind people do not understand this. When you hear a demon making claim over you and you pray but it does not stop, just wait for the next communion service. You will come and take that bread and that wine and remind that situation of who you are and why you are who you are because that blood can never lose its power.
The communion is the highest ritual on earth and Jesus Christ said that as often as you do it, you do show forth my death, you identify with my death till I come. He left that ordinance to remind us of the certainty of what happened on the cross. It is a powerful thing that happened there. It’s a serious thing that happened there but blind people and religious Christians don’t even know that there are some services that are mandatory for you as a Christian and one of it is communion. Yes! Because there are some sicknesses that don’t go easily but when you just take only that communion bread and wine it disappears. Similarly if you were fed evil food in the dream and you drink it with proper understanding, every poison in your body will be nullified. That’s the extent of the power the communion carries.
Halleluyah! And communion is for believers, who believe and have been baptized. In other words, you are entitled to communion once you believe and you have been baptized, so what is baptism? Baptism is identified with the death, the burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and What is Communion? Communion is a further identification with the body of Christ that was offered on the Cross of Calvary for you. Therefore, if you have been baptized you are entitled to participate in the Holy Communion.
Now, my Anglican brethren, please allow my brothers and sisters there to celebrate the body of Jesus Christ and don’t use your church doctrine to prevent them because you have no scripture for it. It is nothing but a doctrine and a commandment of men. You don’t need any confirmation by any man when you come to Christ.
Christ Jesus said, “Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”. But you say, “I will confirm” and so what is the confirmation? When Acts chapter 2 verse 38 says, “…Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, (and ye shall be confirmed, abi? NO! It says and) ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” so the baptism of the Holy Ghost is the confirmation of your salvation. Blessed be the name of the Lord!
No man can confirm that you are now save. No human being, no matter what title he bears, he cannot confirm your salvation and why is that so? It is because he, himself, he needs confirmation. You can confirm somebody to be a member of your church but only Jesus Christ confirms those who will be a member of His own church. Glory be to God!
Christians! The confirmation of your faith, that is, the confirmation that you gave your life to Jesus Christ is the baptism of the Holy Ghost and He (Jesus) is the one that baptizes with the Holy Ghost and fire. No man can give you the Holy Ghost!
Forget the anointing people are playing with. I can speak and say it confidently by the infallible scriptures that if you want to understand whether anything that is happening in Christianity is of God or not, you give it the Word test. Praise the lord! Therefore, the true confirmation is the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and even concerning communion, the timing matters, it must be at the going down of the sun, because, it also points as a marker to the end of the day of redemption or and the end of God’s program to restore us back to what he intended it to be in the garden of Eden.
Also know that Jesus Christ came at the closing of time, the closing of the day, for Christ is our Passover and the Passover was held in the evening at the going down of the sun. So even the timing matters for that communion to be correct. And something happened after they all had eaten with Jesus Christ, let’s see Luke chapter 22 from verse 19,
19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, this is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
My emphasis is in verse 21,
21 But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
On the communion table the one that will betray him is eating together with him, and yet it was supposed to be a fellowship of likeminded people, a demonstration of a bond of love, something that is supposed to be a demonstration of love, they were sharing love yet, somebody that will betray him was there on that table eating together with him. And maybe that person betraying you at your back, that’s speaking against you, doing things evil against you is also seated to take that communion with you, it is wrong communion!
22 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
23 And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
“Is it I?” That is what they were asking him, “is it I?” “Is it I?” Judas also asked, “is it I?” Praise the lord! And just as it was then even now many people misbehave and come to the communion table. You don’t know what you are doing until sometimes, when it is too late. But I know that after today somebody going through this, you will know how to come to the communion table.
Now, 1 Corinthians chapter 11 from verse 23 points to us the consequences of wrong Communion,
23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
See my emphasis here in verse 26,
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
And then consequence of eating communion wrongly is seen from verse 27,
27 Wherefore, whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
And all those Jews; Judas and the rest of them, who were guilty of the body and blood of Jesus Christ, you know what happened to them after the death of Jesus and if you are guilty as well, the same thing is likely happen to you.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
This simply means that you are bringing a curse upon yourself if you eat and drink unworthily, and I have told you what constitute wrong communion, that is, the same thing as what makes you eat and drink worthily. Now see what He said in verse 30,
30 For this cause many (many believers, many Christians) are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
Sleep in this context is referring to death and when he said that many are weak, the question that comes to mind is, weak in what area? Now that could be in your prayer life, weak in your spiritual life, and so on, you get so weak until you cannot handle temptation, because of the way you approach the Lord’s Table.
So when you come to approach the Lord’s Table, you are actually coming to renew your covenant. You are going back to Calvary and the power which was released on the cross of Calvary is renewed in you. So when you come in the right way, you become stronger spiritually but when you fall to the slightest of temptation or every time you are been chased in the dream, it is evidence that you are weak especially if this still happens despite the fact that every month, you partake in the communion that is supposed to be a source of strength, spiritual strength.
The more you take communion and as your earthly years goes by in your Christian journey, the better the image of Christ is formed in you. It becomes easier to love and easier to even love your enemies. Love becomes so easy that carnal people will see you as odd because what they expect you to do in certain situations, you do not do it and the reason you cannot do it, is because the power is not there, and negativity is now far from you.
So note that through the communion service just as you take communion, the image of Christ is formed more and more in you and there is power in coming together to take communion in the right way. So how can you, a Christian, now say that you are so weak until you cannot even cast out devil, you are so weak until you are been chased by witches out of your own house or that you are so weak until you are afraid of everything around you. Christian! You are weak to the extent that all manner of sicknesses are now found in the church of Jesus Christ, when He had actually said, “these signs shall follow them that believe, in my name they will lay hands upon the sick, the sick shall recover” so why is your own not going as he had said? Why are there so many sick people in the church? Why is the devil defeating people? Where are the prophets? Where are the intercessors? Is that the promise of God? Joshua said no! Something is wrong and he did not rest until they found Ahkan who had brought in Babylonish garments into the camp of the Jews. Strange gods were following Jacob and so Laban had to pursue him. Rachael! Sister! You are coming to Israel with your father’s gods? So many of you are coming to Christianity with your tradition from where you came from, it cannot work else the devil will pursue you, the spirit behind those traditions will pursue you. So let go of those things that do not leave you in right standing with God and come before the Lord’s Table to be strengthened the more for the journey ahead of you as a Christian.
